The Golden Age of Hollywood owes its ostentatiously beautiful silver screen stars to Mr. Max Factor. The world of beauty knows Mr. Max Factor as the person who coined the term ‘make-up’ and laid the foundations of this industry outside just films and TV. Recently, I received complimentary goodies in my mail from Max Factor Arabia in exchange for an honest review.
What’s inside the box?
So the box from Max Factor included:
- CC Color Corrector Sticks(Yellow, Green, Pink)
- Facefinity – All Day Flawless 3 in 1 Foundation
- Pan Stik Foundations
- Crème Puff Blush
Honestly, not that big of a fan of these Color Corrector (CC) Sticks. They were a bit hard to blend on my skin and I tried on my model as well, they were creamy and did a fine job but they weren’t as good as the LaGirl Correctors I’ve been using.
- Corrects Under Eye Circles
- Corrects Redness
- Corrects Dullness
These are not heavy coverage concealers or anything of that sort. The green one doesn’t really correct the redness but does help in minimizing it to some extent. It softens things a bit and dulls the redness but doesn’t give you anything close to perfect in the end. They do a pretty much okay-ish job so you won’t be blown out of the water or feel a massive change on your skin. The pinkish/purple ones leave a gray hint to your skin where it is applied. The yellow one was again just okay as it didn’t really counteract the darkness under the eyes. You would still generally need to use a concealer on top of these. So if you have pigmentation under your eyes you would definitely need something better.
So, my say: not much recommended.
Facefinity is Primer + Foundation + Concealer, so you get the hold, conceal and finish all in one. Yes, it is not only a Foundation, but it holds all day like a primer too. Moreover, it conceals blemishes and scars and gives a flawless finish to the skin. This is a heavy coverage foundation and I personally love it. The packaging is very clean and handy giving it a very professional classic look. The pump lets you control the amount you want to get on your hand.
It sits comfortably on my skin and creates a great cushion for flawless matte finish. I would not really recommend it for really dry skin as it clings to the dry patches and emphasize them even more but on the other hand it sits perfect on oily or normal skin. It also absorbs oil from the skin surface, helping in minimizing pores to some extent. It lasts a good number of hours in the day and you won’t even need to reset your face with any powder if your skin is not excessively oily.
The foundation does not have a crazy perfume smell which irritates some sensitive skin types but it does have some smell. It’s bearable, not too strong and evaporates pretty quickly, so not that much of a problem there. It is also infused with an SPF 20 which leaves the skin protected all the while looking immaculate and flawless.
I got the shade Beige 55.
My say: should definitely try.
I’ve been using this Stick Foundation as a contour for over a year now and I absolutely love it, its easily blendable and gives a very natural finish to the foundation. The only thing I don’t like is that it transfers, which is quite a bummer.
If you have acne prone skin you would know that it’s not easy to glide on stick foundations but this one does the job very well. Pan sticks are usually meant for normal to dry skin types. In my opinion, it’s great for highlight and concealing but if you use it as foundation it’s actually going to look a little heavy on the face. So you will have to decide if you’d be good with that. With that said, it does really help cover pigmentation, birthmarks and blemishes to give a very fine coverage. You can also use it for touch-ups on the go, although it lasts a decent amount of time as well.
I got the shade True Beige 12 for Highlight and Cool Bronze 87 for Contouring.
My say: a must try.
This blush is so pretty with a hint of shimmer, which is not at all harsh and looks very subtle on skin. The shade I received was Lavish Mauve- a plum mauve under toned blush it gave me rosy cheeks which I absolutely loved.
It’s not very powdery or creamy but nicely baked blush and you’ll love the marble effect it has once you open it. You’ll get a very natural, subtle infused kind of look after the application and it lasts on the cheeks for a decent amount of time.
It blended beautifully and reflected off so well; all this with an amazingly satisfying quality. The blush itself is more on the cool side. If you don’t wish to go for a seductive one, this is something you would definitely like. It is also very suitable for a good number of skin tones, even some darker shades. The best thing is you get no visible blush lines. The color sweeps off so well.
My say: you definitely have to try this.
