Recently a box hit my mailbox from Uniferoz. This is the same company widely known for the Saniplast bandaids. These guys are responsible for the packaging, marketing, sales and distribution of the product. I was sent their Hygiena Pimple Patch.
Pimples are something you don’t wanna talk about. They are there against your will and many times you’ll just want to get rid of them. Anything that works out is your holy grail but the downside is what works for someone might not work for you.
So the same thought drove me to these pimple patches. I so wanted them to work for me.
Did they work for me? Read on to find out.
What are these Hygiena Pimple Patches?
These are hydrocolloid pimple patches which absorb secretion and promote healing of a pimple.
The pimple patch protects a pimple from dirt and other contaminants.
The water-based material acts like a sponge to absorb the oily secretion, fluid or pus.
It acts as a barrier over a pimple to reduce hand contact and infection.
It is waterproof yet breathable to improve healing.
How to use the Hygiena Pimple Patch?
Cleanse your skin well, especially the problem areas and pat the skin dry with a clean towel.
Remove Hygiena Pimple Patch from the box and peel open the plastic pouch.
Select a suitably sized patch which aptly covers the pimple opening. Ensure the skin is dry when the patch is used.
Gently press the edges of the patch with clean and dry fingers for better adhesion.
Once the color changes from skin color to white, it means the oil secretion has been sucked out.
Remove the patch and gently clean the affected area.
My experience with the Hygiena Pimple Patch
I was super excited about these pimple patches because I had heard they worked for so many people out there.
I had this big clumsy pimple on my temple area on the right side of my face. Therefore, I took out an appropriate sized patch and placed it over the pimple gently pressing it on the sides so that it adhered to the skin.
I waited for 6 hours for the patch to change the color. It did not change color.
I then waited for 8 hours. Still no change.
I waited for 24 hours. And FINALLY… no results whatsoever.
I was distraught because I WANTED THIS TO WORK. So, I decided to give it another chance. This time I had to go to a wedding so I applied makeup over it and aha I realized something which I’ll give you as a pro tip.
PRO TIP: If you have an ugly looking zit on your face that is hard for makeup to cover use these patches. The Hygiena Pimple Patch covers the pimple nice and easy. The makeup comes off as flawless, more like you never had any pimples.
To my utter disappointment when the patch came off on its own after about 6 hours there was still no difference.
I decided to try the patch on a different area on my skin. This time I tried it on my jawline and FINALLY *drum roll* it worked!!
I saw it turned into a murky milky white and when I took it off, it was gross. The pus had come off but I was happy it worked.
So, I inferred that the patch was working on one part of my skin and not working on the other part of it.
Maybe it worked where the skin was soft as opposed to the hard skin near my temple. It also depends on the nature of the pimple.
If you ask me I would definitely buy this product again. Not for it resolves my pimples issue but it covers them like a pro for applying makeup over it.
Would I recommend you buy it? No, there are countless over the counter drugstore creams and gels that can work on your pimples better than this one.
Where can you get the Hygiena Pimple Patch
The patches are easily available on Saloni.pk (check this link) or in your local drugstores for a mere 100-150 PKR.
Do let me know if you have tried any of these pimple patches available in the market and have they worked for you? If there are any more products that you would like me to review just let me know down in the comments section.
